"Tiny House Summer Camp" Event Identity Series

  • Client: Relax Shacks / Deek & Dustin Diedricksen
  • Location: Stoughton, MA (HQ)
  • Roles: Lead Illustrator, Brand Systems Designer, Creative Director
  • Scope: Flagship Event Branding, Multi-Year Brand Evolution, Promotional Assets

The Challenge

A high-profile, multi-season alternative construction brand required a flagship event identity system for their annual educational summit in Vermont. The project demanded a visual system that could balance two opposing criteria: maintaining the brand's authentic, hand-crafted "DIY" aesthetic while establishing a sophisticated, clear information hierarchy that could handle dense promotional event data across print and digital marketing channels.

The Strategy

Structural Information Hierarchy: Engineered a strategic visual layout that anchored complex event logistics below a dominant, narrative-driven focal point. By balancing high-density conceptual illustration against a clean, typographic infrastructure, I ensured immediate consumer engagement without sacrificing informational utility.

Aesthetic Brand Evolution: Translated the client's physical "craftsman-building" methodology into a unified digital design language. This involved executing a traditional, hand-drawn illustration style that mirrored their artisanal approach, effectively scaling the imaginative scope of the brand while preserving its core authenticity.

Multi-Year Account Leadership: Leveraged a long-standing creative alliance to maintain absolute brand continuity across multiple annual events. Given full creative autonomy, I managed the asset pipeline from initial structural concepts to final multi-channel promotional delivery, ensuring a consistent visual narrative that aligned with the client’s marketplace position.

The Impact

Delivered a high-utility, enduring event identity system that successfully anchored the brand's flagship annual gathering. The agile layout framework allowed for seamless adaptation across various print and digital channels, protected the client’s established brand equity, and provided a highly recognizable visual anchor that consistently drove event registration and sustained community engagement year over year.
