Creative Lead

As the primary visual steward for the Relax Shacks international workshop series, I served as the bridge between technical architectural education and global event branding. My role was to provide a consistent, high-impact "hand-built" visual language that could scale across diverse geographic markets—from Memphis and Connecticut to Redfern, Australia. I managed the visual evolution of each workshop, ensuring that while every location had a unique illustrative "soul," the overarching Relax Shacks brand remained unmistakable.

Vision

The vision for the Workshop series was to celebrate the geography of tiny living. For each location, I developed a central illustrative narrative that anchored the building workshop in its specific environment.  The goal was to make every attendee feel like they were part of a localized, hands-on movement within a larger global community.

Creative Strategy

As the Lead, I engineered a scalable brand framework. Because the Diedricksen brothers were hosting workshops across the globe, they needed a visual partner who could work autonomously and deliver high-fidelity assets on tight event timelines. I anticipated the needs of international promotion by creating illustrations that worked seamlessly across both digital social channels and physical print production. By starting every design with analog pen-and-ink, I mirrored the "DIY" and "Artisan" values of the workshops, ensuring the marketing materials felt as authentic as the construction process itself.

Human Element

This series highlights my commitment to community-centered design. These workshops are about more than just building structures; they are about people reclaiming their living spaces. My dual background in physical production and digital arts allowed me to "speak the builder's language," creating artwork that resonates with the hands-on, measure-twice-cut-once philosophy of the tiny house community. Whether the event was in Tennessee or Tasmania, the art served as a "Human" invitation to pick up a hammer and join the conversation.
